What is
Homeopathy? For many, there is a common misunderstanding, which unfortunately is perpetuated by the press: that homeopathy means the use of "natural healing methods". Actually, homeopathy is a distinct discipline of alternative medicine. Of course it uses natural substances, but it isn't a catchall term for "natural medicine". Perhaps people are confusing it with "Naturopathy", which is a practice that incorporates many different kinds of natural therapies, including homeopathy. Homeopathy is based on a simple
principle: That is what the word "homeopathy" literally means -- "similar" (homeo) "suffering" (pathy). Homeopathy is not:
A homeopath treats a patient by finding all about their symptoms (mental, emotional, behavioral, and physical) and selecting the remedy that best matches those symptoms. The remedy is typically given in the form of those teeny little while pills you see in tubes in health food stores. In particular, an extremely extremely dilute form of the substance is placed on those teeny pills. That is what you take. Some of you might be familiar with the story about my son Max. He was cured of autism with homeopathy. Completely. And he's not the only such case. Because of all this, I gave up my career as a research computer scientist (I have a PhD from Stanford), began to study homeopathy myself, and wrote a book about homeopathy, which includes my son's story in it. It is currently one of the best selling books on homeopathy -- and has become the patient education book of choice by most homeopaths. It is called "Impossible Cure". So, if you are interested in learning more about homeopathy, you might like to check it out!
Best regards to all of you! And I truly hope you will all try homeopathy for your children! |
