Dosing Acute Homeopathic Remedies
5th and 6th Edition Organon
Dosing Instructions for Acute Remedies
Individuals should not use these instructions with out the guidance of a professionally trained
Homeopath.
Print out and keep these instructions
handy with your remedies!
Tips to Remember in Acute Dosing
-
You don't always have to treat. Sometimes just
allow the body to deal with it naturally, when possible. You may support
with other safe, natural means; vitamins, herbs, hydrotherapy, rest.
-
Use a 30C or a 200C. Most remedies are readily
available in most health food stores. The higher the potency, the stronger
the Remedy.
-
30C Remedies: If you are treating a family member
who is very sensitive, very elderly and in a very weakened state or if
treating a family member with a lot of pathology (i.e. cancer ) then use
lower potencies.
-
Do not try treat for chronic or recurring symptoms
without the advice of your professional
homeopath.
-
In selecting a remedy, DO NOT go by
what symptoms are written on the remedy bottle by the manufacturer.
-
Consult a good Homeopathic Repertory (such as
The People's Repertory
by Dr. Luc De Schepper) for symptoms or your professional
homeopath.
Instructions for Making Your Acute Homeopathic Remedy in
Water
-
Use only ONE REMEDY at a time.
-
30C remedy - use 4 ounces of pure
spring water.
-
200C remedy - use 4 or 8 ounces of
pure spring water.
-
Take 2 pills of ONE REMEDY and put
it in a glass or plastic water bottle with pure spring water in it. This is
called the Remedy Solution Bottle (RSB).
-
Let 2 pills dissolve completely before
giving dose.
-
Stir one tsp. remedy into 4 oz. water
gently with a plastic spoon, give one (1) teaspoon only, for a
sensitive person, to make the remedy more gentle. Often in an acute one can
take the dose straight from the bottle, as long as there was no aggravation
from the test dose.
-
Use a plastic spoon to give the remedy
and dispose of when the need for the remedy is done.
-
You do not need to keep in refrigerator
unless keeping it for several days and usually this will not be the case.
-
To preserve the Remedy, requiring no
refrigeration, add 12 drops of vodka to the 4 oz. RSB, or 24 drops to the 8
oz. RSB.
Acute Dosing of the Remedy in Water: Start with the Test Dose
- Test Dose: the first test dose is NOT succussed.
-
Give one (1) teaspoon of the
Remedy.
-
Be sure that the mouth is clean and there is no food at
least 15 minutes before or after the remedy, ideally.
-
Wait 1 hour to see if there are any aggravations or a
change in symptoms.
-
If striking improvement follows an aggravation (symptoms
initially intensify), little else will be needed for cure. If only slight
improvement follows aggravation., the remedy must be made gentler (dilute,
give less) and repeated.
-
If no improvement occurs, only
worsening of symptoms or altered symptoms, you must change the remedy.
Acute Repeat Dosing of the Remedy in Water
-
Subsequent doses of the remedy
are always succussed. Succussing a remedy makes it slightly
stronger between doses and allows the Vital Force (VF) to more readily
accept it.
-
The amount of succussions can vary but is usually
between 4 to 12; most commonly used for an acute is 8
succussions.
-
How to Succuss a Remedy:
Give the Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB) a strong hard whack on the bottom
from a distance of about 2 feet. You will hit (succuss) the bottle hard
against the palm of your hand or a leather-bound book each time before
taking all subsequent doses. (Think of a judge hitting a gavel.)
-
Give 1 teaspoon of the remedy.
-
Be sure that the mouth is clean and there is no food at
least 15 minutes before or after the remedy.
-
Wait 1 - 2 hours to see if there
are any aggravations or a change in symptoms.
-
If there is improvement in symptoms but then the same
symptoms return, give another dose, but wait at least 2 hours between
doses.
-
In homeopathy, "Less is More." Doses repeated too
frequently -- i.e. even while symptoms are improving -- are
counterproductive.
-
You basically give 1 dose of 1 remedy and wait.
-
If no improvement on repeated dosing (up to 3 doses),
then the remedy is most likely the wrong remedy. Consult a professional
homeopath.
when necessary.
-
When you are done with the
Remedy, throw it all away.
Mental, Emotional and Symptom Improvements Expected
- If there is 50 percent or more improvement,
best to wait! Let the body continue to heal on it's own.
- The types of improvement you may first see are in mental and
emotional symptoms. For example, general well being, mood, improved
or better quality sleep, more pleasant dreams, improved thirst or
appetite, etc.
- The physical symptoms should then also improve.
Plussing a Remedy:
-
If you get near the end of
the bottle, keep at least one (1) teaspoon in there and add 4 more ounces of
pure spring water to the same RSB to keep it going. By succussing it each
dose, you have been raising the potency each time and therefore you don't want
to start over at a lower remedy by making a new Remedy Supply Bottle (RSB).
-
Continue repeat dosing in the
manner stated above, as needed.
