Dental Surgery and Homeopathy Quick personal anecdote, testimony to the power of homeopathy: I had dental surgery last year, where a bone graft (used my MicroCal Plus) was required, and a couple of stitches in the gum. I used NO pain medication. Was given a prescription for Vicodin, never filled it. I took Hyper. and later Arnica 10M. Because I was willing to aggravate a bit for the ammelioration to follow, the way I took the Arnica 10M was in a 4 oz bottle, one TBS. (Normally in such a case, I'd have a patient stir one tsp into a 4oz cup of water, take one tsp--which would be gentler. Hahnemann talks about dilution and dose size in the Organon 5th Ed, Aph 272-287). I had an aggravation (more intense pain) for about 10 minutes, then the pain disappeared and I fell asleep. Woke the next morning! Even my husband couldn't believe that I had no pain all night. In the morning, I took another dose (it was needed)-- but one tsp from the bottle, stirred into 4 oz water, one tsp. Immediate ammelioration. I used Calendula 1M diluted in 8 oz water for a mouth rinse, taken apart from the Arnica. The Arnica was taken AS NEEDED, which was 2-3 doses a day for several days. Took the stitches out myself Day 2. One week later, when I went back for "dressing and suture removal" - the gum was entirely healed to where the dr. asked, sheepishly, "What tooth was it?" One importance of not using pain med, is it suppresses and interferes with healing. One day I was jumping around w my grand-daughter and felt the gum throb, so knew to stop. Because I was not "numbed" with Vicodin, I knew what I could eat and not. Homeopathy is respectful medicine -- it helps you heed your body. And from this little story, you can see that indeed it cures rapidly and gently |
